Luka Doncic (elbow) downgraded to doubtful for Dallas Thursday
Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic (elbow) has been downgraded to doubtful for Thursday against the Detroit Pistons.
What It Means:
Doncic was previously considered questionable. It now looks like he and Dorian Finney-Smith (leg) will sit, but the Mavericks are expecting to get Kristaps Porzingis (ankle) and Josh Richardson (hamstring) back. J.J. Redick (heel) has also been upgraded to probable. Jalen Brunson is a candidate to replace Doncic in the lineup and there should be larger roles for Richardson and Tim Hardaway Jr.
Porznigis has a $7,600 salary on Thursday's slate and he's averaging 45.9 FanDuel points per game without Doncic this season, compared to 38.1 when they play together. Brunson is averaging 26.8 FanDuel points as a starter this season and THJ is averaging 28.1 when Doncic doesn't play.
