Mavericks might keep Kyrie Irving out final three games

Dallas Mavericks guard Kyrie Irving could be shut down for the final three games of the regular season, reports Shams Charania on FanDuel TV.

What It Means:

The Mavericks currently sit a game out of the Play-In Tournament, and according to Charania, they are "seriously considering" shutting Irving and Luka Doncic down to maximize the team's draft pick potential. Irving is fresh off a 41-point performance on Sunday, but the Mavericks still lost for the seventh time in eight games. Jaden Hardy and Josh Green will likely start and play heavy minutes if the Mavericks do shut down Irving and Doncic. Dallas' next game is on Wednesday versus the Sacramento Kings.

Kyrie has a 27.5% usage rate and is averaging 45.4 FanDuel points over 19 games with the Mavs this season.
