Wizards trade Chris Paul to Warriors
The Washington Wizards traded point guard Chris Paul to the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.
Paul, who arrived in Washington as part of an earlier trade with the Phoenix Suns, was expected to be moved at some point this offseason. He will move to Golden State with the Warriors sending Jordan Poole, Ryan Rollins, a protected first-round pick in 2030, and a second-round pick in 2027 to Washington. Poole will join a Wizards team entering a rebuild after trading away Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis this offseason. Paul will partner with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson as the Warriors look to bounce back from last year's second-round loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Paul averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game for the Phoenix Suns last season. Pool averaged 20.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists for the Warriors.
