College Basketball Preview: Villanova Is Looking to Continue Their Reign of Dominance in the Big East

On the Rise: Seton Hall Pirates

Seton Hall's tag of "on the rise" means their season will come with more stability than a year ago. While the Pirates finished with a 21-12 record of the stregnth of a 10-8 mark in the Big East that resulted in an 8 seed in the NCAA Tournament, they found themselves having to climb out of a 3-6 conference start that had their tournament hopes in jeopardy.

Seton Hall is a senior-laden group led by preseason first-team All-American center Angel Delgado, who led the country in rebounds per game last season with 13. Also back for their senior seasons are guard Khadeen Carrington and forward Desi Rodriguez, who with Delgado were the Pirates' three top scorers from a year ago.

When adding the likely improvement of sophomore guard Myles Powell and the addition of an ESPN Top 100 recruit in four-star guard Myles Cale, Seton Hall is looking to have their most successful season yet in this new Big East conference.
