College Basketball Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 3/4/20

College basketball season is wrapping up conference play, and we have a 10-game slate tonight.

March Madness is right around the corner, but you can get in all the college hoops hype by playing daily contests at FanDuel today. If you've played NBA DFS before, it's quite simple: pick a total of eight players -- four guards, three forwards, and one utility spot you can use for either position. Stay within the $50,000 salary cap and field the team you think will score the most fantasy points.

Where scoring differs from NBA is in the blocks and steals categories, with each worth two FanDuel points apiece rather than the three you get in daily NBA contests.

Now that you're in the know, we can attack today's main slate, which locks at 7:00 p.m. EST.

Which players should you be targeting, and why?

Known Relevant Injury Situations: Udoka Azubuike (Kansas), RJ Nembhard (Texas Christian), Mac McClung (Georgetown), Omer Yurtseven (Georgetown) are all questionable.

Guards

Mason Jones, Arkansas ($8,100) - Jones is an intriguing target because he rarely leaves the floor (37-plus minutes in three out of the last four games) and takes a TON of shots. The junior owns a stellar 31.8% usage rate -- he takes 28.5% of the Arkansas Razorbacks shots when he's on the floor, per KenPom. He has one of the best matchups on the entire slate as the Razorbacks host the Louisiana State Fighting Tigers. In addition to playing fast, LSU is brutal defensively. The Tigers have fallen to 182nd in KenPom's adjusted defense ratings.

Anthony Edwards, Georgia ($7,500) - Edwards is a phenomenal talent as he's projected to be taken very high in the 2020 NBA Draft. He owns a 29.5% usage rate, and he's also taking 32.5% of the shots when he's on the floor, per KenPom. Both of those numbers lead the Georgia Bulldogs by a wide margin. Over the last four games, he's averaging 24.75 points, 6.25 rebounds, 2.75 assists, and 1.25 blocks/steals in 39 minutes. Fatts Russell ($7,800) and Devon Dotson ($7,700) are also worth a look, albeit slightly more expensive than Edwards.

Ty-Shon Alexander, Creighton ($6,800) - In addition to being one of the safest players on the slate, Alexander also offers plenty of upside. The Creighton Bluejays guard has topped 21 FanDuel points in 13 straight games, which includes a 48.2 Fanduel points performance in mid-February against the DePaul Blue Demons. Throw in a matchup with Georgetown's struggling defense, and Alexander makes for one of the better guard plays. The Hoyas are 127th in KenPom's adjusted defense ratings. Backcourt mates Marcus Zegarowski ($6,600) and Mitch Ballock ($6,200) are also solid options. I also like Myles Powell ($7,300) and Kamar Baldwin ($7,000), who are both priced in-between Alexander and Edwards.

Devin Vassell, Florida State ($6,100) - Vassell is averaging .88 FanDuel points per minute. At that production clip, he is expected to pay off his price tag in 27.7 minutes of action. The sophomore is averaging 28.9 minutes this season. Up next is a matchup with the vulnerable Notre Dame defense. The Irish are 116th in KenPom's adjusted defense ratings. Quincy McKnight ($6,200) and Collin Gillespie ($6,100) are also worth a look in Vassell's price range.

Isaiah Joe, Arkansas ($5,000) - Joe is flat-out underpriced. The sophomore is the Razorbacks' second leading-scorer (16.9 points per game), and he rarely leaves the floor (averages 36.1 minutes per game). Joe has played in three consecutive games after missing three weeks due to an injury. He's recorded 29-plus FanDuel points in all three of those games. Aaron Thompson ($4,600) is my favorite play out of the guards listed under $5,000, if you need the salary relief.

Other guards to consider ($5,000 and below): TJ Gibbs, Prentiss Hubb, Scottie Lewis, Payton Willis, Jordan Harris, and Marlon Taylor.

Forwards

Daniel Oturu, Minnesota ($8,800) - Oturu is a dominant force on both ends of the court for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. The Minnesota big man is averaging 20.2 points, 11.4 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 3.1 blocks/steals in 34.3 minutes this season. Oturu has one of the highest ceilings in college basketball as he's topped 41 FanDuel points in four out of the last six games. John Mooney ($8,500) and Obi Toppin ($8,200) are also fine options if you can't quite get all the way up to Oturu.

Cyril Langevine, Rhode Island ($6,800) - Langevine is an elite rebounder and rim protector. He's averaging .93 FanDuel points per minute. At that production clip, he is expected to pay off his price tag in 29.2 minutes of action. The senior has played 29-plus minutes in seven consecutive games. His ownership percentage is likely to be on the lower end, as I believe many people will assume the matchup with Dayton Flyers is tough. While the Flyers are ranked third in the polls, they're nothing to fear defensively. The Flyers are 50th in KenPom's adjusted defense ratings.

Keyontae Johnson, Florida ($6,700) - Johnson is one my favorite plays on the entire slate due to a tremendous ceiling and the matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs. Not only will this matchup be a massive pace-up game for the Florida Gators, but Georgia is brutal defensively (153rd in KenPom's adjusted defense ratings). The Gators are 309th in KenPom's adjusted tempo ratings while Georgia is 61st. Johnson is averaging 32.88 FanDuel points over the last five games.

Trendon Watford, LSU ($5,900) - Watford is averaging .8 FanDuel points per minute. At that production clip, he is expected to pay off his price tag in 29.5 minutes of action. The freshman has logged 29-plus minutes in 14 consecutive games. Frontcourt mate Darrius Days ($5,300) is also a good play. I also like Sandro Mamukelashvili ($6,300), who's priced between Watford and Keyontae Johnson.

Christian Bishop, Creighton ($4,900) - Despite posting two straight monster outings, Bishop's price tag remains under $5,000. Over the last two games, the Creighton forward is averaging 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists, 3.0 blocks, and 1.5 steals in 24 minutes. Take advantage of Bishop's cheap price tag as his hot stretch should continue against the defensive-optional Georgetown Hoyas. Jay Huff ($5,100) and Bryce Nze ($5,200) are also good plays, though they are slightly more expensive than Bishop.

Other forwards to consider ($5,000 and below): Patrick Williams, Adrio Bailey, Ryan Mikesell, Justin Smith, David McCormack (if Azubuike is OUT), Nate Laszewski, Race Thompson, Bryce Golden, and Tounami Camara.
