Iowa at Purdue
Over 149.5 (-115)
We should get some offensive fireworks tonight when Iowa takes on top-ranked Purdue.
Purdue and Iowa rank second and third, respectively, in offense, per KenPom. This is legitimately two of the country's top attacks. The Boilers are good defensively, sitting 22nd, but Iowa is just 153rd on that end of the floor.
The Hawkeyes are a big-time pace-up matchup for Purdue, with Iowa checking in 51st in adjusted tempo -- according to KenPom -- while Purdue is 333rd.
Both squads have been over machines lately. Purdue's games have gone over the total in each of their last four outings. The over has cashed in 8 of Iowa's past 10 games.
The average total across the two regular-season meetings between Iowa and Purdue a year ago was 151.5 points.
Barttorvik projects 152 points to be scored in this one. The over is the side I want to be on.
Oakland at Green Bay
Green Bay +10.5 (-106)
Barttorvik and our model are in agreement on this one as we both think this spread is a tad too big.
Oakland is a 10.5-point favorite tonight at Green Bay. Neither of these sides is much to write home about, with each ranking outside the top 270 by nERD. We have Oakland 273rd and the Phoenix 361st, but despite that gap, we give Green Bay a great chance to cover tonight.
Green Bay snapped a 14-game losing streak last time out, getting an overtime win over Milwaukee, a team ranked 215th by nERD.
Oakland hasn't won a game by double digits since the calendar flipped to 2023. While the Grizzlies' last double-digit win came over the Phoenix, we have Green Bay being much more competitive tonight, and homecourt advantage can help.
Our projections forecast a 71.8-67.1 win for Oakland and give the Phoenix a 66.4% chance to cover. Barttorvik isn't as bullish on Green Bay but still has them losing by just 8.3 points.
