March Madness Daily Fantasy Basketball: DraftKings Defense vs. Position Rankings
This week, my fellow contributor Bryan Mears provided you with some insight on how you can use Vegas to win in March Madness daily fantasy basketball.
He also provided some team daily fantasy projections based on the aforementioned model.
Here, I'm giving you yet another perspective on daily fantasy basketball in March. This should be a great supplement to Bryan and his model -- especially for GPPs on DraftKings.
Want to know who will surprise, who will bust out, and who will take the tournament? Check out our bracket picks, our game simulator, and more!
Check It OutWhat I did was took each team's final 10 games before the tournament and averaged out the DraftKings point totals allowed in those 10 games to each individual position. I accounted for players that come off the bench and produced much higher than the starter on a regular basis, and by using the last 10 games, we can see how each team is performing based on their current injury status.
I must preface this, however, by saying that you should always take into account what conference that team played in, what competition they played and how that might have had a favorable or unfavorable effect on that defense versus position ranking.
In other words, as always, do your homework and this should prove a great asset in winning some daily fantasy contests during tournament time.
Check out the rankings, keeping in mind that, of course, some of these teams have been eliminated already, but seeing how the whole field breaks down helps identify which teams are truly successful -- or unsuccessful -- against guarding certain positions.
