Lions' Matthew Stafford says back healing 'as it should'

Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford said his back injury is not a long-term concern.

What It Means:

Stafford, who hasn't played since Week 9, says his back is healing "as it should" and that he expects to be back next season. The Lions have been reluctant to put the veteran on injured reserve, but it remains unlikely that Stafford plays again in 2019. David Blough is in line for another start in Week 14 against the Minnesota Vikings.

Stafford completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,499 yards (8.6 per attempt), 19 touchdowns, and 5 interceptions in eight games this season. He averaged 21.4 FanDuel points per game.
