D.J. Chark to continue working out of Jaguars' slot
Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver D.J. Chark will be used outside and in the slot, new offensive coordinator Jay Gruden said.
Gruden praised Chark for his athletic ability and how it enables the receiver to be used across the formation. The likely upgrade at offensive coordinator and hopeful progression from Gardner Minshew could translate to a more dynamic role for Chark in his third season. He caught 13 passes (20 targets) for 205 yards and 4 touchdowns last year while playing 24.0 percent of his snaps out of the slot. Overall, Chark was the only Jaguars player to have 1,000 receiving yards and he also led the team with 8 touchdowns.
Chark is the WR24 in numberFire's preseason fantasy rankings. Our models project him to lead the Jaguars across the board with 128.9 targets (22.6 percent target share), 75.9 receptions, 1,026.9 yards, and 5.5 touchdowns.
