Mike Williams (back) ruled out for Chargers' Wild Card matchup
Los Angeles Chargers wide receiver Mike Williams (back) has been ruled out for the Wild Card Round on Saturday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Williams has been diagnosed with a back fracture and is expected to miss 2-3 weeks. Josh Palmer and DeAndre Carter will be more involved on Saturday in a plus matchup versus a porous Jaguars' secondary. Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler will also have more targets available.
Williams led the Chargers with a 33.4% air yards share in the regular season, so Justin Herbert will be without his primary deep threat on Saturday. In recent contests with Keenan Allen and Josh Palmer active and playing heavy snaps but with Williams out or limited, Herbert has averaged 290.5 yards and 2.0 touchdowns for 21.0 FanDuel points. The Jaguars are a pass-funnel defense, according to numberFire's adjusted team metrics, ranking seventh-worst against the pass and eighth-best against the run.
