Russell Wilson joining Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are signing quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year contract.
The deal is reportedly "team-friendly" as the Denver Broncos still have to pay Wilson $38 million next season. Wilson will be the favorite to start Week 1 over 2022 first-rounder Kenny Pickett, and that should be an upgrade for George Pickens, Diontae Johnson and Pat Freiermuth.
Among the 36 quarterbacks with at least 200 dropbacks last season, Wilson ranked 25th in Passing Net Expected Points per attempt. He averaged 17.7 FanDuel points per game, with 3,070 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and 8 interceptions, plus another 341 rushing yards and 3 scores.
