Lorenzo Mauldin

Jets' outside linebacker job opposite Lorenzo Mauldin is wide open

The New York Jets' competition at outside linebacker "wide open," ESPN reporter Rich Cimini said.

What It Means:

Lorenzo Mauldin is guaranteed one of the starting spots, but the other is up for grabs. Cimini said the team is casting a net as wide as the "Lincoln Tunnel." Obviously OTAs have brought little clarity to the situation. Deion Barnes, Freddie Bishop, Jordan Jenkins and Josh Martin are all competing for a role.

The Jets' defense finished the 2015 season ranked sixth in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play.
