Tyler Conklin 'poised for a notable role' in Jets' offense
The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt notes that New York Jets tight end Tyler Conklin seems "poised for a notable role" in the team's offense.
Rosenblatt pointed out that Conklin appeared to be meshing well with new quarterback Aaron Rodgers throughout the first week of training camp, and that the tight end has otherwise been flying under the radar. Conklin led teammate C.J. Uzomah significantly with regards to receiving production last season, and could even take a step forward with Rodgers at the helm in 2023.
Conklin's first season with the Jets yielded 58 receptions for 552 yards and 3 scores on one of the worst offenses in the league, and with competent quarterback play the veteran tight end could put up career numbers this season. He's a deep sleeper and is numberFire's TE32 for the upcoming season, but could be worth monitoring in the early weeks of the season.
