Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) managing reps at 49ers practice
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk (shoulder) is a limited participant at practice on Wednesday.
Aiyuk is returning to practice after sitting out last Thursday's game against the New York Giants. That should put him on track to play versus the Arizona Cardinals in Week 4. Deebo Samuel is sitting out Wednesday with a ribs injury he suffered in last week's game, so Aiyuk could be in line for a larger role on offense. There will be fewer snaps available for Ray-Ray McCloud, Ronnie Bell, Jauan Jennings (shin), and Chris Conley if Aiyuk and Samuel are both active.
Aiyuk went off for 28.9 FanDuel points in the opener before injuring his shoulder in Week 2, with 8 catches on 8 targets for 129 yards and 2 touchdowns. The Cardinals' pass defense ranks 20th based on numberFire’s opponent-adjusted NEP model.
