Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) is practicing again on Thursday.
What It Means:
Gibbs is trending toward returning from a two-game absence in Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens. David Montgomery (ribs) is expected to be ruled out, so Gibbs is set up to be the lead back for the second time this season. He ran 17 times for 80 yards and was targeted twice in Montgomery's previous absence. Gibbs doesn't have more than 8 carries or 42 rushing yards in any other contest. Craig Reynolds (hamstring/toe) will mix in as well behind Gibbs.
Gibbs is the RB9 in numberFire's Week 7 PPR rankings and our models project him for 12.9 FanDuel points, with 14.8 carries, 59.8 rushing yards, 3.4 receptions, and 24.6 receiving yards. The Ravens are 15th in FanDuel points allowed per game to running backs and their run defense is ranked 10th in our opponent-adjusted NEP model.
