David Montgomery (ribs) still sidelined Thursday for Lions
Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery (ribs) will not practice on Thursday for Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders, per head coach Dan Campbell.
What It Means:
Campbell said Montgomery is doing better, but he's uncertain for Monday night's matchup with the Raiders. Jahmyr Gibbs will lead the Lions' backfield again if Montgomery is unable to make it happen. The rookie out-snapped Craig Reynolds 62-7 in last week's loss to the Baltimore Ravens and racked up 126 yards on 20 touches. Gibbs also scored his first NFL touchdown in Week 7.
Gibbs is the RB4 in numberFire's Week 8 PPR rankings and our models project him for 16.7 FanDuel points, with 17.6 carries, 73.0 rushing yards, 3.8 receptions, and 26.2 receiving yards. The Raiders are allowing the sixth-most FanDuel points per game to running backs and their run defense ranks second-worst in numberFire's opponent-adjusted NEP model.
