Deebo Samuel (shoulder) not practicing for 49ers Thursday
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel (shoulder) did not practice Thursday ahead of the team's Week 8 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Samuel isn't expected to play this week as he recovers from a broken bone in his shoulder, so his lack of participation today isn't surprising. Jauan Jennings stepped into a starting role in Deebo's absence in Week 7 and would be expected to continue operating as the team's WR2 until Samuel's return.
Samuel has been productive on the ground and through the air this year, with 20 receptions and 18 carries through 6 games. He's up to 2 touchdowns and 397 yards from scrimmage on the year as he vies for opportunities in one of the most stacked offenses in the league.
