Vikings' Alexander Mattison (ankle) DNP on Wednesday
Minnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday ahead of Week 16's game against the Detroit Lions.
Mattison continues to deal with an ankle injury that sidelined him in Week 15. His absence from practice on Wednesday indicates that he is trending in the wrong direction to start the week. Additionally, Kevin O'Connell spoke about Ty Chandler on Wednesday and said "We're kind of building with the mindset that Ty is going to be a guy we're trying to get the ball to a lot, both in the run and the pass, and if we have Alex that's going to be a huge bonus for the depth and making sure we have our full group available." It sounds like, even if Mattison is able to play in Week 16, he will operate behind Chandler, who has impressed this season.
Mattison's Week 16 projection includes 44.6 rushing yards, 9.7 receiving yards, 0.35 total touchdowns, and 8.0 FanDuel points. His salary is $5,800.
