49ers' Christian McCaffrey (calf) expected to return to practice next week
San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey (calf) is expected to return to practice next week.
McCaffrey suffered a calf injury in Week 17 and sat out Week 18 with the 49ers choosing to rest their starters. He will not practice this week, but is expected to return to practice next week, ahead of the 49ers' divisional round playoff game.
McCaffrey finished the regular season with 272 carries for 1,459 rushing yards and 14 rushing touchdowns and 67 receptions on 83 targets for 564 receiving yards and 7 receiving touchdowns.
