Vikings release Alexander Mattison
Minnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison will be released by the team, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to Schefter, Minnesota informed Mattison on Thursday that they will be releasing him. Mattison, who signed a two-year deal with the Vikings last offseason, will now become a free agent. Ty Chandler could step into a larger role for the Vikings moving forward.
Last season, Mattison recorded 180 rushing attempts for 700 rushing yards and caught 30 of 44 targets for 192 receiving yards and 3 receiving touchdowns.
