Bills' Reggie Ragland will undergo surgery to repair torn ACL

Buffalo Bills rookie inside linebacker Reggie Ragland (knee) will undergo surgery to repair his partially torn ACL this week, and is likely to miss the entire season.

What It Means:

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, he could be the Bills' injured reserve/designated for return player. Some partial tears don't require surgery, but the ones that do normally end in a lost season. Defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman said it's one that is going to change the whole scheme. Zach Brown, as well as recent veteran signings Brandon Spikes and David Hawthorne, is a candidate to replace Ragland.

Buffalo ranked 16th in Adjusted Defensive Net Expected Points per play last season.
