Rams fielding offers for Trumaine Johnson
The Los Angeles Rams are in trade "discussions with several teams" about franchise player defensive back Trumaine Johnson, reports Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Rams signed Johnson to the franchise tender, but they have shown reluctance to sign him to a long-term deal. Even if new defensive coordinator Wade Phillips isn't interested in Johnson's services, he'll receive plenty of offers on the open market as one of the better cover corners in the NFL.
The Rams finished last season ranked 18th in opponent-adjusted Defensive Passing Net Expected Points per play.
