Panthers' Greg Olsen could retire, join Monday Night Football crew
Per Andrew Marchand of the New York Post, Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen is auditioning Friday for an analyst position on ESPN's Monday Night Football.
There hasn't been much talk around Olsen and his thoughts about retirement. If he doesn't get the position, he could return to football, but Marchand believes that he could draw interest from Fox if Peyton Manning doesn't take the position for Thursday Night Football. Olsen had called a game for Fox while injured a year ago. With his fill-in Ed Dickson gone in free agency, the team is believed to be in on free agent Eric Ebron.
Last year, Olsen produced 17 receptions, 191 yards and a score in 7 starts. He has 1 year and $6.5 million left on his contract.
