Top 10 NHL Players of the Modern Era
8. Jaromir Jagr
Point Shares per Game: 0.13
The only active player on this list is the one and only Jaromir Jagr. At this moment, through 22-plus seasons and 1,675 games, the future Hall of Famer has racked up 214.5 point shares, made up of 173.6 offensive point shares and 40.9 defensive point shares.
Jagr is currently a member of the Florida Panthers, but has been a part of several other teams -- seven, to be exact. He played the largest portion of his career with the Pittsburgh Penguins before bouncing around from team-to-team since 2001. Fittingly, his best individual season was with Pittsburgh at the age of 23.
In 1995, the right-winger delivered 62 goals and 149 points on his way to 16 total point shares. He was voted to the All-Star game that year, but was largely overshadowed by Mario Lemieux's greatness. And, unfortunately, the Pens disappointed with a loss in the Eastern Conference Final.
No matter, though. Jagr had many more great seasons, which has amounted to nine total All-Star appearances and two Stanley Cups, with the Pens in 1991 and 1992. He also won the 1998-99 Hart, 2015-16 Masterton, three Pearsons, and five Ross trophies.
Due to his play and longevity, Jagr is second in NHL history in points, third in goals, and first in game-winners. One day, before long, he'll find himself in the Hall of Fame.
