The New York Islanders' Power Play

To start the season, Lubomir Visnovsky missed the first six games with a back injury. Enter Johnny Boychck, the new acquired defenseman from the Bruins who started off his Long Island career the right way, collecting two goals and four assists in his first three games while quaterbacking the Islanders' man-advantage.

Fast forward almost a month, and Visnovzky is back and playing 81% of the Islanders power-play time versus about 60% for Boychuk. The Islanders often go with four forwards and one defenseman during the power play, so Visnovsky's return has eaten into Boychuk's power play ice time.

Pay attention to their ice time and usage. If this trend continues, it may be time to sell high on Boychuk.
