NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 11/11/19

Alex Ovechkin stars in the two-game Veterans' Day slate but who else can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Petr Mrazek ($7,900): The Carolina Hurricanes have endured a rough patch of late as they have lost four straight games and seven of their last ten. Even their shots on goal per game have dropped from the league lead to 7th. The only concern is their defense which of late is giving up 3+ goals with regularity despite allowing the least amount of shots per game (28.7 per contest). Mrazek is at a good price and represents the best chance for a win on the entire slate. For saves, Anders Nilsson of the Ottawa Senators at just $7,300 is the play.

High-Priced Skaters

Evgeny Kuznetsov ($7,500): Kuznetsov is shaking off the bad start at last with three 20+ FanDuel point performances in a row. He gets a good matchup against the Arizona Coyotes on Monday night. The fact that he gets to play second-line even-strength minutes with ample power-play time helps immensely. Arizona has allowed 25% more high-danger chances over the last four games compared to the rest of the season and Kuznetsov now has 16 real-world points in 15 games on the year. Sebastian Aho ($7,000) is a potential alternative.

Alex Ovechkin ($9,000): Ovechkin is the one viable automatic option on Monday night. There are few high-priced options other than maybe goaltender. That is even debatable at this point. The left-winger is averaging five shots a game once again and faces an Arizona team that is stingy defensively. For Ovechkin, those numbers do not matter. He will get his chances in this game. He has 13 goals in 18 games on 90 shots for a reason. The Russian Machine never breaks. Andrei Svechnikov ($5,900) for Carolina is a viable option on this slate.

Value Skaters

Jean-Gabriel Pageau ($4,400): The Ottawa forward keeps on scoring and no one can explain it. There have been flashes in his career but nothing like this. He has double-digit FanDuel points in six straight contests and still is priced reasonably. Expect ownership of Pageau to be extremely high on Monday night. With eight goals in 16 games, how could it not be? Watch for Vladislav Namestnikov and Anthony Duclair as well especially if they are linemates again.

Nick Paul ($3,300): The forward has found a home of sorts in Ottawa on the second line and has price-based value. He has seven real-world points in 11 games on 19 shots on goal. Six of those points have come in the last six contests on the heels of playing nearly 17 minutes a night. For a true punt play, try Michael Grabner ($3,100). His ability to strike short-handed will be overlooked on this slate and his potential for 10+ FanDuel points is high.
