NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Monday 11/18/19

Alex Ovechkin tops the billing in yet another short slate on Monday. So, who else can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Darcy Kuemper ($8,700): Kuemper not only posts shutouts but suplexes as well. The Arizona Coyotes goaltender expects to get the nod on Monday night against the Los Angeles Kings. Kuemper has stopped 70 of his last 72 shots faced (two wins). Simply, the goaltender has been ranked among the top-five goalies in the NHL over the last calendar year. That is saying something. Among other options, John Gibson ($8.300) is a high-risk option in the hopes of a high save count against the Washington Capitals on Monday night.

High-Priced Skaters

Ryan Getzlaf ($6,200): This time, the Anaheim Ducks center has bounced back well. Getzlaf has eight goals on 55 shots and 27 blocked shots in 21 games. Nine of those blocks have come in the last three contests. Getzlaf was thought to have declined but that is not quite the case. Yes, maybe he is not that point-a-game player anymore, but the center is still very effective around the net. He still sees top-line minutes in all situations and might be a surprise play against the Capitals on Monday. Evgeny Kuznetsov is another option to consider as well.

Alex Ovechkin ($8,800): The Russian Machine keeps on rolling. His price is elevated as a function of the short two-game slate. His production has slowed down a bit with two points in his previous five games. Ovechkin still has fired 24 shots on net on 45 attempts and 20 scoring chances in that span. There are some other alternatives to Ovechkin on Monday. Rickard Rakell ($5,900) and Jakub Vrana ($5,600) are slightly lower-cost alternatives on this short slate.

Value Skaters

Carl Soderberg ($4,000): As long as Soderberg is a middle-six play with top-six ice time, he is at least worth a look on Monday night. He only has six goals in 21 games but the Swedish pivot has a way of creating some chances unexpectedly. A plus matchup against the Los Angeles Kings is helpful. Lars Eller ($4,300) could be an alternative who does average 2.2 shots per game for Washington.

Alex Iafallo ($4,400): Iafallo is one of the few Los Angeles players that has been consistent over the past week or two. In his last four games, the Kings' winger has topped double digits in FanDuel points in each contest. That includes five real-world points in that span. The only concern is shot volume with just six shots and five scoring chances. Iafallo is only less of a risk because of his price tag. Ondrej Kase ($3,800) is another moderate to high-risk choice on Monday night with some upside.
