NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 11/27/19
A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Pekka Rinne ($7,600): The Nashville Predators expect to start Rinne against the Vegas Golden Knights tonight at home. Rinne has struggled mightily of late, but Marc-Andre Fleury is out, which should help. It is hard to believe that Rinne will have an .889 save percentage the rest of the season, so a bounce-back is coming. Again, the key for Rinne will be confidence because he is definitely shaken right now. With no quality starts in his last four outings, Rinne becomes a high-risk GPP play, which is something never thought to be uttered this early in the season. Coming off a shutout, Joonas Korpisalo ($7,700) could be a play from Columbus at home against the Philadelphia Flyers.
High-Priced Skaters
Connor McDavid ($9,300): Among the craziest matchups could be the Edmonton Oilers and Colorado Avalanche. McDavid is on an 11-game point streak (24 real-world points) and draws a Colorado team that easily allows three goals a game. More importantly, McDavid generates several quality scoring chances per contest and is averaging just over four shots per game. Nathan MacKinnon would be one of the best secondary options on Wednesday night as Edmonton's defense can be wildly inconsistent.
David Pastrnak ($9,200): Pastrnak has to be played yet again. All the winger did was score a hat trick against the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night. The forwards draws an equally appealing matchup against the Ottawa Senators on Wednesday night. Yes, Boston is on the back end of a back-to-back, but that seems to have affected the right-winger little. Overall, he now has 23 goals in 24 games on the season. The only other high-priced viable option is Alex Ovechkin ($8,800), and he faces the Florida Panthers, who allow 3.62 goals per game on the road.
Value Skaters
Calle Jarnkrok ($3,800): The Predators forward endured a drought where he had just one point in six games. However, he now has at least one in his last three, which includes 10-plus FanDuel points in all of those outings. Jarnkrok must keep moving his feet in order to be successful. He is now getting that consistent top-six ice time most thought would help (nearly 54 minutes over the past three contests). The very fact that he is again under $4,000 is a godsend on a huge slate such as this.
Martin Necas ($3,800): Necas must hit the net more, but when he does, good things tend to happen. He has six real-world points over the previous seven games and even fired four shots on net for only the second time this month. Necas mostly only plays third-line minutes but will see some power-play time every so often. The home matchup against Philadelphia is beneficial as their depth lines allow nearly four more shots per 60 than their top two lines. Even Zach Hyman ($3,900) carries some value with a couple goals in his last three games (18-plus minutes averaged on ice).
