NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Friday 11/29/19
A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Ben Bishop ($8,900): The Dallas Stars are poised to start Bishop on Friday against the St. Louis Blues. Bishop is 8-1 in his previous nine decisions with eight quality starts. He encounters a plus matchup against St. Louis, who also typically allows a low amount of goals per game. Bishop stopped 26 of 28 shots in his last start against the Vegas Golden Knights before Thanksgiving. Some other options on Friday's big slate include Connor Hellebuyck ($8,300) and Malcolm Subban ($7,600) if one wants to go a bit against the grain.
High-Priced Skaters
Nathan MacKinnon ($8,900): MacKinnon enjoyed a minute of mighty against the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday as he nabbed a goal and assist in short order. That went with his 10 overall shots, 6 scoring chances and 36 FanDuel points. Playing against the high-flying Chicago Blackhawks will only help his chances of a good night against a team that yields nearly 35 shots per 60 over its last 10 games. MacKinnon drives play at such an absurd rate that only Connor McDavid is in that same class among centers. Evgeni Malkin ($8,500) could be an intriguing choice against Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday night.
Alex Ovechkin ($8,800): Ovechkin is playing an old Southeast Division rival in Tampa Bay this evening. It looked like Ovechkin had slowed down a bit but has 12 shots and 10 scoring chances over his previous two contests. Again, he should get plenty of opportunities against a Lightning team that allows over 34 shots per 60 and 3.27 goals per game. The Tampa penalty kill is hovering around 80%, and these are two of the highest-scoring offenses in the league (Washington -- 3.54, Tampa Bay -- 3.73). Nikita Kucherov ($8,200) is heating up with goals in three consecutive contests.
Value Skaters
Calle Jarnkrok ($3,800): The Nashville Predators forward endured a dry spell where he had just a point over six games. Now, he has four real-world points over the last four games. Jarnkrok must keep finding space for himself because it will be there for him. The key now is the winger must learn to sustain his level of production given his top-six ice time. Martin Necas ($3,800) is a decent, secondary option from Carolina who enjoys a plus matchup versus Nashville.
John Marino ($3,700): Marino is someone to just ride the wave on. He has 11 real-world points in 23 games, and 7 of those have come in the previous six contests. His shots and blocks have been kind of erratic, but the bottom line is he has 10-plus FanDuel points in each of his last four outings. It is sometimes hard to find good value. Marino has been a pleasant surprise while still playing around 22 minutes a night. Jakob Chychrun ($3,700) has been quite consistent for Arizona Coyotes and could easily block several shots tonight or more.
