3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 12/4/19

Joonas Donskoi is way underpriced for his role on the Colorado Avalanche. Who else could deliver at a low cost?

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars.

Tom Wilson, Winger, Washington Capitals

FanDuel Price: $4,800

It is a little uncertain where the lines will land with Nicklas Backstrom likely returning tonight and the Washington Capitals playing on the tail-end of a back-to-back. The matchup is pretty solid, despite the back-to-back, as they visit the Los Angeles Kings.

Tom Wilson has a solid 10 goals and 19 points in 29 games, despite rarely playing on the top power-play unit, he seems to make things work. He isn't really known for his offensive ability, but playing alongside Alex Ovechkin and one of Backstrom or Evgeny Kuznetsov at even strength, is a fantastic line to be on.

Joonas Donskoi, Winger, Colorado Avalanche

FanDuel Price: $4,500

Playing on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon and Mikko Rantanen is just about as good as it gets with regards to linemates in the NHL. Not only is Joonas Donskoi playing with this pair at even strength, but he also plays with them on the top power-play unit which adds to his upside.

They'll take on a Toronto Maple Leafs team that is on the tail-end of a back-to-back, which puts the Leafs in a bad spot. There is a bit of uncertainty as to whether or not Michael Hutchinson will be in net or if Frederik Andersen heads back again. Either way, it shouldn't matter as Andersen will have fatigue going against him while Hutchinson is just not playing well.

Darnell Nurse, Defense, Edmonton Oilers

FanDuel Price: $4,000

There are plenty of teams on a back-to-back, and another one of them are the Ottawa Senators and they'll head to Alberta to take on the Edmonton Oilers — a team that has separated Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl for now. Darnell Nurse plays on the team's second power-play unit and is rated as the second-highest points-per-dollar defensemen, as per our projections.

Nurse's offense is down a bit this season with just 13 points in 29 games, but he's averaging about 2 shots per game and 1.5 blocks per game which certainly give him a decent floor to go along with any offensive upside that he has.
