NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Friday 12/6/19
A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Matt Murray ($8,100): The risk here is high, but Murray expects to start for the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night against the Arizona Coyotes. Arizona is on the back end of a back-to-back. Also, they played a bit of a grinding affair versus the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night. Can the Pittsburgh goalie get back on track? He has allowed 4+ goals in each of his last four starts. The dilemma with the Friday slate is who else is in as good of a spot as Pittsburgh. The answer is maybe Edmonton and Mike Smith perhaps. Smith could also be a good option against Los Angeles.
High-Priced Skaters
Connor McDavid ($8,900): McDavid arguably has the prime matchup of the night against the Kings. His price has lowered a hair due to two subpar performances in his previous four outings. The center has 51 real-world points in 30 games on the season with 100 shots on net. Los Angeles allows 4.15 goals per game on the road and features a penalty kill that barely kills three out of every four man disadvantages. Mika Zibanejad ($7,300) could be an option to look at with the entire New York Rangers first line on Friday.
Patrick Kane ($8,400): Kane has been firing shots on net with regularity of late (16 shots in the last three games). The winger has points in 16 of his last 17 games (including 15 straight at one point). The Chicago Blackhawks forward faces a New Jersey Devils team that is a currently total mess. They have yielded 22 goals in their previous five contests and are just 4-7-1 at home. Chicago and New Jersey could be one wild game on Friday night, and the Kane line will play a big role in it. Leon Draisaitl ($8,500) remains a great option as well on Friday against the Kings.
Value Skaters
Nikita Gusev ($3,900): Gusev averages nearly 2.5 shots per game despite less than ideal deployment. The hope is that New Jersey continues to play a more wide-open style, as that suits Gusev much more than the low-even game John Hynes had employed. Chicago is a team that can give up as many goals as New Jersey. This is one of those games that could set up for a potential mini game-stack. Gusev would save some money in order to acquire higher-priced plays. Conor Garland ($3,700) scored on Thursday and still could be of use on Friday in Pittsburgh.
Adam Fox ($4,000): Fox represents a solid GPP play once again for New York as he sees some power-play time. The defenseman has 15 real-world points in 27 games this season. His shots per game is less than two per contest, but he does have 1.2 blocks per game too. Some other value options on the blueline for Friday include Calvin de Haan ($3,700) and Tony DeAngelo ($4,200) for different reasons. de Haan's floor with blocked shots and DeAngelo's point potential is intriguing.
