NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 12/10/19
A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?
It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.
Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at some goalies, high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.
Goalie to Target
Sergei Bobrovsky ($7,800): Bobrovsky is projected to start on Tuesday night versus Tampa Bay. This is a big litmus test for the Russian goaltender. He has won two straight games, stopping 63 of 65 shots in the process. Those were home games against the San Jose Sharks and Columbus Blue Jackets, who are no slouches. Florida is virtually guaranteed to allow 30-plus shots and even 35-plus shots are likely given how bad Tampa Bay was humbled last night against the New York Islanders at home. After that, Alex Stalock ($7,500) could be an option against an Anaheim Ducks team that averages just 2.43 goals per game on the road.
High-Priced Skaters
Connor McDavid ($9,000): McDavid is still the best center on the slate on Tuesday night, and that is because of Edmonton's league-best power play (32.3%). However, this does go up against a Carolina penalty kill that functions at a 85.6% kill rate. It is probably the matchup of the night at even-strength as well. McDavid has sputtered a bit over his last three games, failing to hit 15 FanDuel points in any of those contests. Carolina is apt to allow some chances tonight, and McDavid is capable of cashing in. Jack Eichel ($8,700) is another option, and so is Evgeni Malkin ($8,500), who plays a Montreal team that has a below average penalty kill (75.6%).
Artemi Panarin ($8,200): Panarin goes up against one of the worst defenses in the Los Angeles Kings. The Kings' penalty kill functions at just 74%, and though they only yield 2.62 goals at home, they have lost four straight games. Meanwhile, New York continues to surprise. Their morale is high, and their top line is an attractive play on Tuesday night, especially Mika Zibanejad for power-play correlation. The road performance by Panarin and the top line was noticeable in Vegas, as well. Also, Brendan Gallagher ($7,500) is an enticing choice due to goal potential and shot volume. He's averaged five shots and a goal in each of his last three games.
Value Skaters
Conor Garland ($3,800): Garland keeps producing at a rate just enough where his price does not spike, yet stays steady to be a value play once more. He has three real-world points in his last five games while averaging 2.6 shots per contest. It seems just when people give up on him, the winger scores double-digit FanDuel points. Calgary is on the back end of a back-to-back and has won five straight contests. However, they allow 3.28 goals per game on the road, plus the over has hit in three consecutive contests, too. Frank Vatrano ($3,600) is our other option tonight against a tired Tampa Bay team.
Mathew Dumba ($3,700): Dumba is getting top minutes in Minnesota again due to injury but has little to show for it other than good shots and block totals. He does not have a real-world point in 10 games and hasn't scored a goal in more than a dozen contests. But the last three games have seen him average a combined 5.33 shots and blocks per night. That does not seem like much but is a value at this price. If he kicks in an assist, that is just a bonus. Another option, albeit higher-risk, could be Tony DeAngelo ($3,900), who sees some power-play time against a woeful Kings penalty kill.
