3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 2/7/20

Jacob Trouba has a unique high-floor, high-ceiling element to his game for his price. Who else is a good value on Friday?

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars

Adam Henrique, Center, Anaheim Ducks

FanDuel Price: $4,800

Adam Henrique centers the second line for the struggling Anaheim Ducks, but he doesn't really have offensive linemates to get you too excited in Nick Ritchie and Troy Terry. However, he does play on the team's top power-play, which certainly helps his offensive upside -- although it's worth noting the Ducks' power play is dead last in the NHL.

Henrique is not having a great offensive season with just 27 points in 54 games, but his shot rate is by far his highest in his career. He is averaging 2.37 shots per game and this is the only season where he has averaged more than 1.86 shots per game.

Gustav Nyquist, Winger, Columbus Blue Jackets

FanDuel Price: $5,600

The Columbus Blue Jackets are ridiculous -340 favorites right now, so there is plenty of reason to expect not only a win but likely a lot of goals. The Detroit Red Wings are on the tail end of a back-to-back after defeating the Buffalo Sabres in a shootout last night.

Gustav Nyquist isn't having the greatest year, with 12 goals and 34 points in 54 games, but the matchup is elite, as the Red Wings are allowing a league-worst 3.80 goals against per game. The gap between Detroit and the second-worst team, New Jersey, is basically the same as New Jersey and the 11th-worst team (Buffalo), just to show how bad the Red Wings have been.

Jacob Trouba, Defense, New York Rangers

FanDuel Price: $4,800

Jacob Trouba is certainly a solid offensive player, with 7 goals and 23 points in 52 games from the New York Rangers' back end, but it is all of his other peripheral stats that not only give him a solid floor but an elite ceiling as well.

Trouba is averaging 2.56 shots per game and 1.81 blocks per game, which is a higher shot rate than his career average of 2.13, but a lower block rate than his 1.98 career average. Trouba unfortunately plays on the Rangers' second power-play unit, but the Buffalo Sabres are also on the tail end of a back-to-back, so fatigue should be a factor here.
