3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 2/12/20

Jake Virtanen has a solid role in the top-six in a great matchup. What other value plays should you target tonight?

If you follow the NHL, you already know all of the top players. Obviously, when playing DFS, those players will come at a high cost. In this article, we are looking to find the cheaper value plays to help you afford the superstars

Kirby Dach, Center, Chicago Blackhawks

FanDuel Price: $3,700

This Chicago Blackhawks rookie is now playing on the second line at even strength as he centers Brandon Saad and Patrick Kane. In addition, he will play on the second power-play unit. Kirby Dach has had a relatively uneventful rookie season with 7 goals and 17 points in 50 games, but it is not bad considering he plays under 14 minutes per game.

Dach is the second-highest point-per-dollar center on this slate, as per our projections. However, the Blackhawks are on the tail-end of a back-to-back, which makes this a pretty tough matchup, but with this being just a three-game slate, no team is off the table.

Jake Virtanen, Winger, Vancouver Canucks

FanDuel Price: $4,000

On the other side of the game, the Canucks are the lucky ones, facing the Blackhawks, who just played last night. Chicago is likely going to have Corey Crawford in net as Robin Lehner was between the pipes last night.

Jake Virtanen will line up with Elias Pettersson and Tanner Pearson on the Canucks' second line, and being the home team, will have a favorable matchup. Virtanen comes in as the second-highest point-per-dollar winger, as per our projections.

Jeff Petry, Defense, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Price: $5,000

The news came out this morning that not only is Shea Weber likely out for the season, he may also have his career in jeopardy as he continues to have issues with his surgically repaired foot from 2018. Now, it is time for Jeff Petry to continue his career-season for the Montreal Canadiens.

Petry is a great mix of offense and peripheral stats, and while his blocked shot rate is among the lowest of his career, his shot rate and point pace are both ready to set career-highs. This is definitely a tough matchup on the road against the Boston Bruins, but Petry will run this blue line, and hopefully, in this matchup, he can pick up some more blocks than usual.
