NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 2/19/20

Leon Draisaitl is playing well and is worth a look against Boston. Who else stands out on Wednesday's six-game NHL slate?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at a goalie, some high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Ben Bishop ($8,700): The Dallas Stars' goaltender projects to get the nod on Wednesday night at home versus the Arizona Coyotes. The Coyotes average a little over 30 shots a game on the road, which is good. Also, Bishop comes off a performance where he looked better in the second half -- he allowed three goals in barely over a period on Saturday in Montreal. That makes six straight games where Bishop has faced 30-plus shots. Dallas is allowing more scoring chances but less of the high-danger variety. Jacob Markstrom ($8,600) is home against the Minnesota Wild tonight and is a viable secondary choice.

High-Priced Skaters

Nathan MacKinnon ($8,800): The Colorado Avalanche center has 25 or more FanDuel points in three of his last four outings. Overall, the New York Islanders are on a bit of a cold streak. They have lost three straight games and have allowed 14 goals over their past five contests. MacKinnon has 10 real-world points over the previous seven contests along with three-plus shots and scoring chances in each. New York brought in Andy Greene to boost the defensive core a bit, but MacKinnon comes off a great performance against Tampa Bay where he recorded a goal, assist, five shots, a block, and four scoring chances. Mika Zibanejad ($8,200) remains a solid choice in Chicago on Wednesday night, as well.

Leon Draisaitl ($8,700): Draisaitl has some ugly possession numbers, but few care about that in daily fantasy hockey. He does have 28-plus FanDuel points or more in four of his last five games. That translates to 12 real-world points and 5 goals. Since Connor McDavid went down to injury, Draisaitl has turned on the offensive heat even higher. He has four-plus shots on net in three of these five outings, as well. The forward has meshed well with Kailer Yamamoto, who becomes a good stacking option with Draisaitl tonight. Artemi Panarin ($8,000) plays his old Chicago team tonight and is a reasonably priced choice.

Value Skaters

Frank Vatrano ($3,600): There is a tiny bit of danger here, but Vatrano has exceeded value in two of his past four games, including his last one against San Jose where he had an assist and three shots on net. If he continues to play around 15 minutes a night like he has for the previous 10 games, then there should be a good enough ceiling for production. He also has 15 shots on net in his last four contests, which increases his floor for tonight. The Anaheim Ducks are one of those teams who give up 30-plus shots with frequency and are susceptible to a speedy winger like Vatrano. Dylan Strome ($4,100) is risky, as well, due to low shot volume but expects to be in a high-scoring affair against the Rangers.

Jakob Chychrun ($3,900): The Arizona Coyotes' defenseman has a career-high 26 points this season and 12 goals. He has six real-world points in his previous seven contests and has three-plus shots on net in four of those games. This is more like the defenseman many were expecting when he first broke into the league. Surprisingly, Dallas has been allowing more shots on goal of late (32 shots per 60), and that could help Chchyrun's chances of success tonight. After missing a ton of time to injury, Stephen Johns ($4,000) has five points in 10 games for Dallas.
