NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Wednesday 3/4/20

There are just four games on the Wednesday night schedule. So, who can you trust in NHL DFS?

A good chunk of you played daily fantasy football this year, and I'd be willing to bet a significant portion of you have also tried out daily fantasy basketball and baseball. But hockey? Hockey?

It's time to give it a try over on FanDuel because it's a ton of fun.

Our analysis and projections can help you win. To help, let's take a look at a goalie, some high-priced skaters, and lower-priced players to target for today's slate.

Goalie to Target

Pavel Francouz ($9,000): The Colorado Avalanche goalie expects to start on Wednesday versus the Anaheim Ducks. Francouz has been excellent in net with six straight wins. Moreover, he has allowed two goals or less in all six of those starts. Anaheim is one of the lighter offenses in the league and averages just 2.47 goals a game on the road, as well as a slate-low 14 goals over their previous five games. Francouz, like Robin Lehner last night, should face a medium shot load on Wednesday. Thatcher Demko ($7,300) could be a moderate-risk GPP play against the Arizona Coyotes, who have put up more shots on average of late (32 per 60 over the last ten games).

High-Priced Skaters

Elias Pettersson ($6,900): Just play him again on Wednesday. He produced a goal and two assists on Sunday in that wild game versus Columbus. Arizona has struggled defensively of late at times. A big part of Vancouver's home dominance is the Pettersson line. It is partly why they average 3.71 goals per game at home. Expect a heavy dose of the center on Wednesday, going against the depth of the Coyotes. It is a matchup that cannot be overlooked. Stacking players like Alexander Edler and J.T. Miller are reasonable and will not break your cap. Nathan MacKinnon ($8.800) could break out against the Ducks as well.

Alex Ovechkin ($8,900): The Philadelphia Flyers are within a whisker of the Washington Capitals in the standings. This is where Ovechkin usually steps up and delivers a home performance on a big stage (NBCSN tonight). Ovechkin had a huge Sunday night against the Minnesota Wild with just over 40 FanDuel points. Can he do that again? History says no, but something close to value (20 points) would be plausible. One of his worst performances of the season came last month against Philadelphia, where the winger had just two shots on net and one scoring chance. He will want to atone for that. J.T. Miller ($6.900) is just out there waiting from Vancouver as a slightly cheaper alternative.

Value Skaters

Danton Heinen ($3,500): Heinen and Sonny Milano is a very sneaky mini-stack in the making tonight against Colorado. They are two players that can generate enough speed and chances to keep Colorado honest. They teamed up on a power-play goal against Chicago on Tuesday. Their increased minutes also help elevate their chance and FanDuel point potential. This is the time of year where teams like the Ducks see what they have in players. It is a perfect time to try out a cheap play to spend up elsewhere. Lawson Crouse ($3,300) is seeing top-six minutes again for Arizona and may be worth a look.

Ryan Graves ($4,000): The Colorado blueliner slides back in price just enough to be a value play on Wednesday. His numbers have been okay of late, but okay may be good enough. He does have 3+ shots on net in four of his past five outings. He is paired with Cale Makar which should help increase his chances and output. It may even boost his floor as far as blocked shots too. The price is just low enough on a Wednesday, where good value is hard to find. Taking a flier on Travis Sanheim ($3,800) may be worth it from Philadelphia if one feels a little hesitant on Graves.
