3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on 3/17/21

With six games on the docket tonight, which value plays will leave others green with envy in NHL DFS?

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.

Wednesday night has six games on the schedule. Let's make some green with these values!

Colin White, Center, Ottawa Senators

FanDuel Salary: $4,000

The Ottawa Senators and Vancouver Canucks are both entertaining teams for DFS purposes and that is great for tonight. Colin White has double-digit FanDuel points in four of his last five outings and is starting to shoot the puck more. He has three shots on goal in consecutive games for the first time since the beginning of the season.

White is going up against one of the most porous teams on the road in shots on goal and chances allowed per 60 in the Canucks. Thatcher Demko has seen a whopping 195 shots on net over the last five starts. Somehow, he has managed to win four times in that span. At what point does the dam break?

Now, can White find a way to hit the scoresheet once more? Chances are definitely elevated with him playing around 17 minutes a night as he did against Vancouver and Toronto in the games before.

Elsewhere, Gabriel Vilardi ($3,700) could be in play Wednesday night against a wild St. Louis Blues team that is all over the map offensively and defensively.

Tanner Pearson, Wing, Vancouver Canucks

FanDuel Salary: $4,000

Somehow, Tanner Pearson is on the top line in Vancouver again and the last two games have shown a response with real-world points in each game. The question becomes can he sustain this for a little longer. Playing Ottawa will help generate a few extra scoring chances which are good.

Again, when two bottom-ranked teams face each other defensively, it may be okay to bank on both squads for a little extra offense. At the very least, higher floors should be expected and Pearson has shown that with 13 shots on goal and 6 blocked shots over his previous five games. This comes with playing over 19 minutes a night.

Colin Blackwell ($3,600) is a high-risk alternative from the New York Rangers but his salary mitigates that danger somewhat on Wednesday.

Joel Edmundson, Defenseman, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Salary: $3,600

Defensively, Joel Edmundson probably causes heartburn for fans of the Montreal Canadiens. However, lately, he has provided some value for DFS.

Value options are a bit challenging on Wednesday night from the defensive ranks. However, Edmundson possesses a decent floor, and playing over 20 minutes a night does help elevate his opportunity to accumulate extra DFS points. If he can get 3-5 shots and blocked shots combined on Wednesday, that would come close to hitting value.

Watch out for Nicolas Hague ($3,500) from Vegas tonight. His speed on the blueline could be an asset against a less than agile San Jose Sharks defense.
