3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Friday 4/23/21

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.

Friday night features five games on the NHL schedule. Let's dig in for some picks.

Kirby Dach, Center, Chicago Blackhawks

FanDuel Salary: $3,800

The Chicago Blackhawks' center rewarded the loyalty of many DFS owners with nearly 20 FanDuel points on Wednesday night. At this point, why not go to the well with Kirby Dach one more time?

They're facing a Nashville Predators team -- in a rematch of Wednesday's clash -- whose penalty kill is just 28th at home and 29th overall. Dach had a couple of assists with two shots on goal and three scoring chances on Wednesday. The two teams combined for nine goals in what was a wild affair.

Elsewhere, Nico Sturm is a bottom-six wildcard from Minnesota ($3,300). He has two goals and an assist in his last three starts.

Luke Kunin, Wing, Nashville Predators

FanDuel Salary: $3,700

Luke Kunin is back to his scoring tricks in the middle-six for the Predators, and he'll be up against a Chicago team the Predators netted four goals against on Wednesday.

With Kunin mostly attacking the Patrick Kane line, Nashville found a lot of success as the winger had a goal on four shots. This followed up the previous game in which Kunin also had four shots and a goal but added an assist, as well. Chicago's defense seems to have few answers to combat the Preds' second line.

The hidden value may be with Nick Bonino, who qualifies as a winger now and is just $4,000. Bonino has eight real-world points in his past five contests.

Matthew Grzelcyk, Defenseman, Boston Bruins

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

As for risks, Matthew Grzelcyk is a big one -- not because of his play but due to his potential injury. He does seem to get banged up a lot and has had a couple of scares this week.

The Boston Bruins' defenseman excels at moving the puck well and creating chances on the power play. Often, he will assume the lion's share of the Bruins' top-10 rated power play and benefits hugely as a result. Grzelcyk delivered a goal and assist against the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday night in slightly more than 19 minutes played.

When scouring for other options, Ryan Ellis is at the same exact salary as Grzelcyk and has a knack for getting the puck on net for Nashville.
