4 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Thursday 11/4/21
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.
With nine games on Thursday night, there are a few more value options than normal. Let's take a look!
Nicolas Roy, Center, Vegas Golden Knights
FanDuel Salary: $3,400
The Vegas Golden Knights will still have Nicolas Roy as one of their top centers on Thursday night. They face the Ottawa Senators, a young team that is capable of yielding some goals. The Golden Knights are projected to score 3.21 goals tonight (and could potentially score more).
Roy has eight scoring chances in his previous three games and has played 17-plus minutes in each of those contests. The center has just three real-world points on the season, but all these chances and Ottawa's vulnerability on defense make Roy a good pick on Thursday night.
Joonas Donskoi, Wing, Seattle Kraken
FanDuel Salary: $3,900
The Seattle Kraken forward has five assists on the young season and is now entrenched in a top-six world. Donskoi has not played fewer than 15 minutes all season long and has looged 17 or more in three consecutive contests.
It is nice that Donskoi occasionally has some great offensive contributions. He had six shots on goal and four scoring chances against Minnesota last week. Playing more with Yanni Gourde should increase his chance output, which is around 2.5 per night.
This is a good home matchup against the Buffalo Sabres. The Kraken are mostly under-salaried on this slate.
Oliver Kylington, Defenseman, Calgary Flames
FanDuel Salary: $3,800
Few expected Oliver Kylington to make this kind of impression, but the blueliner has a goal and four assists in eight games despite playing just 15 minutes a night.
The Calgary Flames' blueliner will go up against the Dallas Stars, who are not the most fleet of foot and will attempt a good deal of shots. Kylington had 21.6 FanDuel points against the Nashville Predators while nearly topping 20 minutes for the first time all season.
Kylington provides a nice floor with six shots and three blocked shots over his previous two games. Kylington has double-digit FanDuel points in each of the past three weekends.
Robin Lehner, Goalie, Vegas Golden Knights
FanDuel Salary: $7,600
Robin Lehner as a value play sounds crazy, but his salary has dropped just enough. Part of that is because the Vegas' goaltender has yielded eight goals on 71 shots over his last two starts.
Lehner plays a shifty Ottawa Senators team that can mount quite a few shots on goal. Vegas is eagerly awaiting the return of Max Pacioretty and Mark Stone to stabilize their defensive core and allow their offense to release and generate more chances.
He has more of a chance to win than most of the higher-salary options, with our model putting the Knights' win odds at 59.2%.
