3 NHL FanDuel Values to Target on Friday 11/5/21
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal more risk. This is especially true on tonight's slate, where there are lots of lower-salaried plays. Plugging in these options will afford you more chances to play some studs, as well.
Friday night has five games on the docket. Let's take a few risks!
Isac Lundestrom, Center, Anaheim Ducks
FanDuel Salary: $4,000
The Anaheim Ducks forward has seven assists in 11 games this season, which is good. However, he has just 12 shots on goal. That is not so good.
Lundestrom is seeing about 15 minutes per game of ice time, but more importantly, he sees a good deal of time in mostly penalty killing. This led to a short-handed goal on Wednesday night against the New Jersey Devils
There is little doubt that Lundestrom will keep seeing opportunities.
For the salary, the center is good for a sneaky option play on Friday night.
Paul Stastny, Wing, Winnipeg Jets
FanDuel Salary: $4,000
With opportunities limited, Paul Stastny is worth taking a chance on this Friday night against the Chicago Blackhawks.
The forward has just 12 shots on goal and 18 scoring chances while playing more than 18 minutes a night. Stastny gets copious power-play time and often creates chances over shots. The problem with that is it does lower his DFS potential a little.
When a player like Stastny has seven real-world points in nine games though, he is worth rostering at this low of a salary.
Nate Schmidt, Defenseman, Winnipeg Jets
FanDuel Salary: $4,100
Nate Schmidt has a solid floor where maybe he does not shoot the puck a lot but does block nearly two shots a game.
The Winnipeg defenseman had two assists versus the Dallas Stars but also blocked three more shots. That type of upside is hard to pass on.
There is always a risk with primarily floor/assist-driven players like Schmidt, but once again, the value can be worth that danger.
