3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Tuesday 11/9/21

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside, as if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists as well. Ideally, we'll want players that will get a lot of ice time together on an even-strength line and a power-play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

With nine games on Tuesday, we should be able to find some stacks that will work for our lineups tonight.

Boston Bruins

The Boston Bruins went off last week when they were mentioned in this article. They scored five goals, with three of them being on the power play. Their first line did most of the damage, and they could do a lot of damage again tonight.

Patrice Bergeron ($7,100) hadn't scored until Thursday but quickly made up for lost time. He scored four goals, and all three of Boston's power-play goals. Brad Marchand ($9,000) had an assist on all four of those goals, going off for 36.7 FanDuel points.

The player on this line who wasn't able to get any points in that game was David Pastrnak ($8,600), but he was the only member of this line to score on Saturday. Charlie McAvoy ($6,300) continues to be the defenseman on the power play, and he picked up two assists on Bergeron's power-play goal explosion last week.

The Bruins will face the Ottawa Senators in a great spot tonight. The Senators have been porous defensively, allowing the third-most goals per game. The underlying numbers show that this hasn't been a fluke, either, as they are 31st in shots against per 60 minutes. Their team save percentage is also just .894%, so whichever goalie is in net hasn't been getting the job done.

Boston is the biggest favorite on this slate and has the highest implied team total, as well. Ottawa doesn't have the players that can match up with this first line, and another dominant performance like we saw on Thursday is definitely within the range of outcomes for the Bruins.

Edmonton Oilers

The Edmonton Oilers have had a nice four-day break but return to action tonight. When we last saw them, they were coming back from 4-1 down to win 6-5 in overtime. Their big players obviously played a huge role in that game and should do the same tonight.

It was the second game with Connor McDavid ($9,900) and Leon Draisaitl ($9,800) back playing together at even strength, and it worked out about as well as expected. They each had three points, and for Draisaitl, it was his third consecutive game with at least three points. He's now overtaken McDavid for the league's scoring lead.

The other great part about Friday from a fantasy perspective was the ancillary pieces contributing. Jesse Puljujarvi ($5,400) played with the two stars and scored two goals. Tyson Barrie ($5,800) showed some signs of his form from last season, with a goal and two assists.

Edmonton will cross the border and play the Detroit Red Wings tonight. The Red Wings are playing their third game in four nights, so the Oilers have a huge rest advantage here. Detroit also ranks in the bottom five in nearly every advanced defensive metric and has allowed the sixth-most goals per game.

Edmonton's implied team total trails only Boston on tonight's slate. They obviously have the explosive upside we need to take down a tournament and are the top stack nearly every time they take the ice.

Seattle Kraken

There are a number of other stacks we could choose from tonight that have a higher implied team total than the Seattle Kraken. The Calgary Flames are a pretty solid option, but you could make the case that they can't match the upside of Boston or Edmonton. We need some value if we want to roster the other two stacks above, and Seattle is a pretty good choice.

The early returns for the Kraken have been a bit of a mixed bag, especially in the offensive department. That has kept their salaries down to something we can work with. They have had some good games, though, like when Jordan Eberle ($5,200) scored the first hat trick in franchise history last week. He was bumped up to the first line with Jaden Schwartz ($4,700) and Alexander Wennberg ($3,600) for that game and remains there tonight. He'll also play with Schwartz on the top power play.

While that line is a great value for a first line, the second line might be an even better one. Yanni Gourde ($4,100) has six points in eight games, and his left wing Brandon Tanev ($4,500) is tied for the team lead in goals with six. Calle Jarnkrok ($3,600) has yet to record a point for Seattle but is on the first power play with Gourde. With this trio, you get decent correlation that also allows you to fit in any stack you want.

The Kraken will face the Vegas Golden Knights in what is not as tough of a matchup as it first appears. With all Vegas' injuries, they've been struggling to tread water. They've allowed the most scoring chances and expected goals per 60 minutes in the league this season.

Seattle hasn't been lighting up the scoreboard this season, but they do have nine goals in their last two games. With the salaries considered, the bet you make on them could easily pay off tonight, and it allows you the high-upside stack you really need to take down a tournament.
