3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Tuesday 1/25/22

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside, as if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists as well. Ideally, we'll want players that will get a lot of ice time together on an even strength line and a power play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

We've got nine games on Tuesday with some good spots to stack, so let's look at three of them.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins continue to play well. They've won 5 games in a row and 16 of their last 18. With their lineup close to full strength, they are a deep team and have scoring threats throughout the lineup.

The first line for the Penguins continues to be one of the best stacks each night. Sidney Crosby ($8,000) isn't having his best season ever, but 31 points in 29 games is very solid. Jake Guentzel ($9,300) leads the team with 21 goals. Bryan Rust ($7,800) has been the hottest player on this line, with 8 goals and 17 points in his last 10 games. With these guys all playing on the power play together, this trio is highly correlated.

Pittsburgh gets a dream spot on Tuesday night. They'll take on the Arizona Coyotes at home as massive favorites. The Coyotes are the worst team in the Western Conference and have allowed the second-most goals per game at 3.7.

The Penguins have the highest implied team total of the night at 3.88 goals. They won't go overlooked by fantasy players tonight, so to get unique with them, you could throw in one of two players. Evgeni Malkin ($6,700) has seven points in seven games since returning to the lineup and will play on the power play with the first line. Kris Letang ($7,100) has 13 points in his last 10 games, making him one of the best plays at defense on this slate, and he's also on the top power play.

Florida Panthers

We talk about the Florida Panthers most of the time when they play and for good reason. They are one of two teams that averages at least four goals per game and have been closer to five goals per game in the last month. There was always one tricky part about stacking the Panthers, but that seems to be gone on Tuesday.

The Panthers were somewhat hard to stack because their two best players weren't playing on the same even strength line. That isn't the case anymore, as Aleksander Barkov ($9,200) and Jonathan Huberdeau ($9,100) played together on Sunday. They both had no problem with the change, as Huberdeau put up three points and Barkov two. They are joined by Anthony Duclair ($6,400), who is tied with Barkov for the team lead in goals.

Florida will face the Winnipeg Jets tonight. The Jets have been middling this season in most defensive metrics and have had middling results in the wins column, as well. They definitely can be exploited by a talented offensive team, as they've allowed at least four goals in four of their eight games in 2022.

Florida's implied team total is up to 3.58 goals tonight. We've seen them exceed a total like this many times, including scoring nine twice in the last month. They continue to be one of the most deadly teams each night. Aaron Ekblad ($7,100) is definitely a good play on defense with the top line, as his 10 goals are third among blueliners this season.

New York Islanders

The New York Islanders are a great source of salary relief tonight. They've been playing better after their terrible start, going 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. That includes a few wins over Tuesday's opponents.

Like the previous three seasons, the Islanders are led in scoring by Mathew Barzal ($6,100). Anders Lee ($5,000) hasn't shown the same 40-goal form in a while, but he is still a capable goal scorer and attached to a great playmaker like Barzal. The third member of the first line is Austin Czarnik ($4,500), who has only played on this unit for two games and has a goal to show for it.

You could also stack the Islanders' second line, as it's fully correlated on the second power play, as well. Brock Nelson ($5,800) leads the team in goals with 13 and has a four-goal game to his name this season. Josh Bailey ($4,600) is quietly second on the team in points, and Anthony Beauvillier ($4,300) isn't having his best season but has been proven to be a solid complementary producer.

The reason you can go to these Islanders guys is their opponent. They'll face the Philadelphia Flyers, who are on the second night of a back-to-back. They lost last night, making it 12 games in a row without a win. They also allow the fourth-most expected goals and most high-danger chances per 60 minutes.

You can use the Islanders to fit in the Penguins, Panthers, or other teams like the Dallas Stars or Edmonton Oilers. New York's implied team total is 3.26, and they don't have a skater whose salary is above $6,100, making them the best value team on the board tonight.
