3 Daily Fantasy NHL Stacks for Monday 2/14/22

The Minnesota Wild have an explosive offense that's in a good matchup tonight. Which other teams should we stack on Monday?

In daily fantasy hockey, stacking is a key strategy in tournaments. We want to correlate our lineups with up to four players to maximize our upside, as if one player on a line is scoring goals, it's likely that his linemates are getting assists as well. Ideally, we'll want players that will get a lot of ice time together on an even strength line and a power play line. Two good resources for line combinations are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceoff.com, so be sure to check those sites for updated line information.

The first puck drops an hour later than normal on this four-game slate. Let's take a look at the three best stacks of the night.

Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild keep chugging along. They've gone 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. What's perhaps most surprising about the Wild's season is how well their offense is clicking. They've scored the third-most goals per game and seem to be a threat to go off any night.

The reason Minnesota is so high-scoring is that they have good forward depth. The first line has been playing its part. Kirill Kaprizov ($8,600) has been dynamic with 54 points in 42 games. He also has 48 shots on goal in his last 10 games. Mats Zuccarello ($7,700) is a great fit with him on the top line and power play. Zuccarello is a pass-first player, complimenting Kaprizov's propensity to shoot. Ryan Hartman ($6,000) has just one point in his last seven games, but he's still in play as the center of this line.

The second line also has merit as a stack. Kevin Fiala ($6,600) has seven goals in his last 10 games and is really picking things up after a slow start. Matthew Boldy ($5,200) was called up at the beginning of January and has 10 points in the first 12 games of his career. He's on the top power play with Kaprizov and Zuccarello, giving him a great opportunity in all situations. Fiala will play on the second power play with Frederick Gaudreau ($5,100), who is the center on the second line.

The Wild will face the Detroit Red Wings at home tonight. Detroit has allowed the seventh-most goals per game this season and the second-most in road games. Minnesota's implied team total is currently the highest on the slate at 3.6 goals. They definitely have the upside to be the stack you need to win tournaments tonight.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Toronto Maple Leafs have been hard-luck losers in their last two games. They put up over 100 shots combined in those games and only came away with four goals and no points in the standings. If they keep putting up those shots tonight, this luck is unlikely to repeat.

The Leafs' lines look similar to what they did at the start of the season. Auston Matthews ($10,200) is playing with Mitchell Marner ($8,700) and Michael Bunting ($5,900) at even strength. Matthews has 14 points in his last seven games and 22 shots in his last three. Marner was on a tear before these last two games, but his 15 shots on goal in those games is very encouraging. These two will link up on Toronto's league-leading power play.

The second line is still in play with John Tavares ($8,600) and William Nylander ($7,500) on that top power play. It will likely be less popular because their recent form isn't as good, but Tavares does still have 10 points in his last 10 games. Any power play stack can use Morgan Rielly ($6,600) on defense. Rielly is fourth on the team with 40 points.

Toronto makes their first visit to play the Seattle Kraken tonight. The chances of the Leafs getting shut down by a hot goaltender in tonight's game are slim. Philipp Grubauer has been the worst goaltender in the league by goals saved above expected. If the Leafs are able to generate as many chances as they did in the last two games, their ceiling is off the charts in this matchup.

Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets have followed a similar pattern of the past seasons. They have talented forwards, are somewhat weak on defense, and are often bailed out by stellar goaltending. That's pretty much the case this season, and it has them on the playoff bubble again. They'll need a win tonight to stay in the hunt.

Winnipeg hasn't been a high-flying offensive team this season, but they still have the pieces we like in fantasy. Even 35-year-old Blake Wheeler ($6,200) showed he still can play on Saturday. He had a massive five points and eight shots on goal in that game. Mark Scheifele ($7,300) had three points in that game and now has six points in his last three outings. The third member of this line is Paul Stastny ($4,500), who hasn't done much of late but is still seeing solid ice time.

The Jets' second line is appealing because it has Kyle Connor ($9,800). Connor has points in five straight games and is sixth in the league with 26 goals. Pierre-Luc Dubois ($6,700) is second behind Connor with 20 goals. These two play together on the first power play with Scheifele and Wheeler. Cole Perfetti ($3,600) offers salary savings and is a youngster with lots of talent, so he can be used with this line.

Winnipeg will face the Chicago Blackhawks on home ice. Chicago will be without their captain Jonathan Toews and have the third-worst goal differential in the league. Winnipeg torched Chicago 5-1 in their only meeting of the season. The Jets showed on Saturday that they are still a dangerous offensive team and could produce again tonight.
