3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Friday 2/18/22
Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.
Friday night has four games on the board. Let's dig into some values!
MacKenzie Entwistle, Center, Chicago Blackhawks
FanDuel Salary: $3,600
MacKenzie Entwistle is listed as a center on FanDuel for the Chicago Blackhawks. Hey, it is not a bad idea to try and take advantage of a short-term opportunity.
Again, scarcity is not one's friend at these salaries. With only four games on the slate, budget options can be a challenge.
On Wednesday, Entwistle saw a couple of more opportunities on the wing and cashed in; he scored against Columbus at home. With another home game versus Dallas on Friday, it cannot hurt to give the forward another shot.
Dallas has won five straight games on the road, but could they be do for a letdown after a road triumph against Colorado?
Andreas Athanasiou, Wing, Los Angeles Kings
FanDuel Salary: $4,000
Could Andreas Athanasiou please convert all these scoring opportunities into a goal?
It seems like a prayer at this point since the Los Angeles Kings forward has been snakebitten of late. Athanasiou has not scored a goal on his last 12 shots and 15 scoring chances.
The Vegas Golden Knights are a team that can give up some goals. They allow 2.94 per contest.
His ice time fluctuates for Los Angeles, but Athansiou hits the net with frequency when he's on. That could make him incredibly valuable Friday.
Brayden McNabb, Defenseman, Vegas Golden Knights
FanDuel Salary: $3,800
The Vegas defenseman is a beacon for blocked shots lately. In three of his last four games, Brayden McNabb has blocked at least five shots.
However, the danger is that he only has three shots on goal and an assist in that time frame. Honestly, it has been a struggle for offense. McNabb has just that one helper dating back to his last 13 starts.
Facing Los Angeles on Friday should be a gateway to more blocked shots, and he's been on the ice more. He has played 20-plus minutes of ice time in four of his previous six appearances.
McNabb takes some chances with his body, so taking one on him may be worth the salary you spend on Friday night.
