4 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Tuesday 4/5/22

The value bin has plenty of choices on Tuesday night on this large slate. Let's take a look.

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy -- but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.

Tuesday night presents us with ten games. It is time to get some bang for your buck!

Christian Dvorak, Center, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Salary: $3,800

These are two teams that have nothing to play for but pride and the search for more offense.

Christian Dvorak is getting top-line minutes and opportunities from Martin St. Louis, so why not take advantage of it?

The Ottawa Senators away from home allow 3.40 goals per game since January 1st. These are two teams who allow goals in bunches; Montreal yields 3.77 per contest overall (31st in the NHL).

Dvorak has two goals and two assists in his last six games with a decent floor. He is averaging 1.8 shots and 0.8 blocks per contest in that same stretch.

This could be a plum spot for those looking to get away from the plethora of stud matchups.

Yakov Trenin, Wing, Nashville Predators

FanDuel Salary: $3,700

Yes, sometimes going a little deeper into the tank reveals some things. Here is a middle-six DFS option with surprising upside.

Yakov Trenin is quietly on pace for 20 goals this season for the Nashville Predators.

There are some possibilities of what this player could do with some power-play time, but that's for another time. Trenin has four goals in his last four home games. Guess where Nashville is on Tuesday?

The winger has a booming shot but is learning to get himself into a better position for scoring chances. He has three-plus shots on goal in five of his previous seven appearances.

Are there enough goals to be had in Nashville on Tuesday night? It may be worth it to find out in at least this one spot.

Jaycob Megna, Defenseman, San Jose Sharks

FanDuel Salary: $3,800

The San Jose Sharks are trying to play some younger defensemen more -- at last. It has been something that needed to happen for some time.

Jaycob Megna is starting to show some signs of promise. He already has a solid floor while racking up at least three blocked shots in five of his last six.

The Edmonton Oilers can be a Jekyll or Hyde team at any time. This is a pure floor play, but the potential of multiple shots and three-plus blocked shots is appealing here.

Artem Zub at $3,900 is interesting in this area as well.

Jean-Francois Berube, Goalie, Columbus Blue Jackets

FanDuel Salary: $7,400

Yes, we're stepping into the Twilight Zone.

Jean-Francois Berube is up for another stint with the Columbus Blue Jackets, and he is the projected goalie against the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday night.

Overall, he faced an insane 170 shots during his previous run of games in Columbus. That is an eye-bulging 42.5 per contest!

With Columbus an easy target to give up at least 35 shots again, the volume justifies the play.

The goaltender expects to be under siege most of the night in a wild back and forth contest. When his personal lowest amount of shots seen is 36, that's a sign of how poor this Jackets' D has been.

His value is all about padding the save count, but he did have three wins in that four-start run (for what it is worth).

If he does not end up starting, Jake Allen may be another high-volume possibility from Montreal.
