3 NHL FanDuel Studs to Target on Wednesday 4/6/22

Spending up in any daily fantasy lineup is how to get the superstars and the highest upside players in your lineup.

In NHL DFS, it’s different from spending up in sports like NBA or NFL. Someone can be one of the highest salaried players at his position and put up a total dud of a performance, and paying that much for him would be a huge mistake. Let’s make sure we are spending salary in the right spots when building our lineups tonight.

Wednesday night has five games on the schedule. Here are a few studs.

Elias Lindholm, Center, Calgary Flames

FanDuel Salary: $7,900

The Calgary Flames' top line returned just in time on Monday night to dispatch the Los Angeles Kings. That gave Elias Lindholm double-digit FanDuel points for the second straight game.

With the Anaheim Ducks in full "California mode," the Flames should have plenty of chances to pad some numbers on Wednesday.

The center has 35 goals and 35 assists in 69 games. Besides the nine power-play goals, he is averaging three shots a game and one blocked shot a night since February 1st.

Lindholm is high-end tonight because centers are lower-salaried than usual. Stacking John Gaudreau could be a viable option, as well.

Kyle Connor, Wing, Winnipeg Jets

FanDuel Salary: $9,200

The Winnipeg Jets get a prime matchup against the Detroit Red Wings tonight. This means Kyle Connor may be primed and raring to go.

Detroit is not rested and Connor is returning after a bout with COVID. Needless to say, not playing hockey for more than a week drove the winger crazy.

The feeling is that Detroit could give up a few goals. They allow 3.86 goals per game and have a 72% penalty kill. Both are the worst in the NHL.

Alex Pietrangelo, Defenseman, Vegas Golden Knights

FanDuel Salary: $6,800

The Vegas Golden Knights have gotten themselves off the mat thanks mostly due to the help of Alex Pietrangelo.

The Golden Knights are back to scoring timely goals and stopping offenses just well enough. Pietrangelo has three goals and two assists in his last five games.

If that was not enough, the Vegas defenseman has 15 shots on goal, 8 blocked shots, and 19 scoring chances during that span.

Vancouver has one of the worst penalty kills in the league, ranked 31st at 72.7%. With the Vegas power play clicking above 20% over the last 10 games, Pietrangelo is worth a look once more.
