3 NHL FanDuel Value Plays to Target on Wednesday 4/13/22

Value plays are sparse on Wednesday with just three games on the schedule. Let's dig in and see what's out there.

Spending lower in any daily fantasy lineup is a way to incorporate some diversity into your roster. In NHL DFS, there is typically more value in this strategy but also a good deal of risk, too. The right low-salary plays can give you good production while affording you more chances to roster high-salary studs.

Wednesday night features three games. Let's dig a little deeper.

Morgan Frost, Center, Philadelphia Flyers

FanDuel Salary: $3,600

The Philadelphia Flyers center has looked more comfortable lately. Morgan Frost has more upside than most value centers because he blocks shots well and gets shots on the net.

This latest span of games sees Frost averaging around 15 minutes a game a night. He has a couple of assists in his past three games, but he has blocked shots in five consecutive appearances.

Philadelphia anticipates getting into an up-and-down type of game versus a New York Rangers team that also played on Tuesday night.

With both teams expected to score some goals, Frost figures to be one of many beneficiaries on Wednesday night. Even Owen Tippett could make for a value mini-stack of sorts.

Brendan Gallagher, Wing, Montreal Canadiens

FanDuel Salary: $4,200

Brendan Gallagher still looks odd in a value salary slot on Wednesday for the Montreal Canadiens, yet here we are.

He has one goals and four assists in his last four contests, and the winger's salary keeps staying put around $4,000.

The Columbus Blue Jackets yield 35.6 shots per game and 3.71 goals per contest. That's a terrible defense that is right up Gallagher's alley.

The winger is in a plus matchup and should avoid the Zach Werenski defensive pairing on the second or third line Wednesday night.

Alexander Edler, Defenseman, Los Angeles Kings

FanDuel Salary: $3,900

Relying on the old venerable floor producer seems like a great proposition on Wednesday night.

Alexander Edler has exceeded value in four of his past five appearances. Edler has a goal and four assists in his last five games; he has turned back the clock a bit for the Los Angeles Kings.

The veteran blueliner plays around 18 minutes per night and may have several opportunities to hit the opposition and block shots. He has six shots and five blocked shots during this span and figures to be in a more defensive capacity on Wednesday against the high-powered Colorado Avalanche.

It is a risk, but the old guard defender is a reasonable salaried option right now.
