3 NHL FanDuel Studs to Target on Friday 4/15/22

Aleksander Barkov looks like a great way to finish up the week for NHL DFS. Let's see who else is on the radar this Friday night.

Spending up in any daily fantasy lineup is how to get the superstars and the highest upside players in your lineup.

In NHL DFS, it’s different from spending up in sports like NBA or NFL. Someone can be one of the highest salaried players at his position and put up a total dud of a performance, and paying that much for him would be a huge mistake. Let’s make sure we are spending salary in the right spots when building our lineups tonight.

Friday night now has two games on the schedule. Here are a few studs.

Aleksander Barkov, Center, Florida Panthers

FanDuel Salary: $9,400

The Florida Panthers and Aleksander Barkov get to enjoy a home matchup against the maybe too well-rested Winnipeg Jets.

Winnipeg has not played since Monday night after a blizzard kept them from playing one of their home dates on Wednesday.

It does seem that Winnipeg players are getting a little too much respect in this spot. Barkov is an elite center on an eight-game real-world point streak.

Though Barkov's shot and chance performance has waned some, the Finnish forward still has six goals and 10 assists in his last eight games alone.

Jonathan Huberdeau and Gustav Forsling are stacking options to add on given the playoff-like slate.

Nikolaj Ehlers, Wing, Winnipeg Jets

FanDuel Salary: $7,900

The Winnipeg Jets' not-so-secret weapon expects to be a major thorn in the side of Florida tonight.

This Nikolaj Ehlers idea keeps gaining steam. The winger has five goals and seven assists over his past seven starts.

Ehlers has been a bit banged up this season, but he still has 25 goals in just 54 games of action. The 31 shots and 35 scoring chances are just a bonus at this point.

The Panthers' defense is going to have its hands full all night. Ehlers can strike at any time and often does. Finally, he has not played since Monday.

Noah Dobson, Defenseman, New York Islanders

FanDuel Salary: $6,000

The New York Islanders are the latest beneficiaries to play the Montreal Canadiens on Friday.

Montreal gave up five goals in all on Wednesday night, and the expectation is the Islanders' defenseman will be able to pad his real-world point total some.

Lately, Dobson has just three assists in his last seven games, but he is playing more than 23 minutes a night over that span. Also, he has 12 shots and 13 blocked shots for a still decent floor.

If that was not enough, the Canadiens allow more than 3.8 goals per contest. New York is averaging 3.2 goals per game over the last month of action.

With the shorter slate, options are more scarce, and Dobson represents the best of a short bunch.
