Two main points to always focus on in NHL DFS are what lines the players are on and making sure the goalies you are rostering are confirmed as the starters. Two of the best resources for that are LeftWingLock.com or DailyFaceOff.com. That is where you can find updated forward and power-play lines for each team, along with which goalies are confirmed as the starters.
Let's jump in to take a look at today's slate and some players to consider for your lineups.
Goalie to Target
Sergei Bobrovsky ($8,600): The Florida Panthers are insane -610 home favorites against the Detroit Red Wings tonight. That converts to an 85.92% implied win probability, which is the highest on the slate. This shouldn't come as a surprise since the Panthers are tied for the most points in the NHL and have the league's best offense.
Bobrovsky is confirmed as the starter in goal and comes in with four straight wins, allowing a total of eight goals in those games. The Panthers can still push for the President's Trophy, giving them plenty of motivation despite it seeming like a meaningless late-season game.
High-Salaried Skaters
Jonathan Huberdeau ($9,600): With a staggering 4.77 implied total, the Panthers are the top stacking option on tonight's slate. The Panthers are scoring 3.39 Goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations this season, which is the best in the league. They also come in sporting a 66.22 Corsi For (Total Shot Attempts Created) per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is -- wait for it -- also the best in the league. Huberdeau has 111 NHL points on the season and is only two behind Connor McDavid for the league lead. Sometimes players push for awards late in the campaign, and the Art Ross Trophy (award for the most points in the league) is fully obtainable for Huberdeau.
That multi-point potential is there versus the Red Wings, who are allowing 3.02 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fourth-most in the league. Expect plenty of points from Huberdeau in a matchup where he can realistically post three or four points.
Andrei Svechnikov ($7,200): The Carolina Hurricanes need to continue to win if they want to hold onto the Metro Division lead. Winning the division and playing a Wild Card team is a matchup most teams want to push for. That is the spot the Hurricanes are in right now, and they should be able to flex their offense tonight versus the Winnipeg Jets. Over the last three weeks, the Jets have taken a step back on defense and are now allowing 3.17 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the 10th-most in the league.
This puts Svechnikov in a good spot to continue his scoring trend, as he's notched 9 NHL points and 31 shots on goal over the last 10 games. His roles on the second forward line and the first power-play unit are set in stone, making him viable in all formats.
Value Skaters
Phillip Danault ($5,600): The Los Angeles Kings need to win their game versus the Chicago Blackhawks -- there's no other way to put it. The Kings have yet to clinch a playoff spot, and they can't be losing a game against one of the worst teams in the league, especially when the Blackhawks are on the second game of a back-to-back. Over the last three weeks, Chicago is allowing 3.69 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the fourth-most. The Kings need to jump on this matchup and get their offense going. Danault is on the second forward line and the first power-play unit. He's got 10 NHL points, 20 shots on goal, and 9 blocked shots in his last 10 games.
Justin Faulk ($4,800): The St. Louis Blues are unstoppable on offense right now, scoring a whopping 4.14 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations over the last three weeks. That leads the league during that time, and getting exposure to their offense is a great call right now. Faulk is the defender on the second power-play unit, and he offers great point-per-dollar value. Across his past 10 games, he has 11 NHL points, 23 shots on goal, and 10 blocked shots, putting him in play for cash games if you need to save on defense.
