NHL Daily Fantasy Helper: Tuesday 11/15/22

NHL DFS is similar to MLB in terms of how you build lineups, how you view stacking, and how to value players.

Two main points to always focus on in NHL DFS are what lines the players are on and making sure the goalies you are rostering are confirmed as the starters. Two of the best resources for that are LeftWingLock.com and DailyFaceOff.com. That is where you can find updated forward and power-play lines for each team, along with which goalies are confirmed as the starters.

Let's jump in and take a look at today's slate and some players to consider for your lineups.

Goalie to Target

Logan Thompson ($8,700): The Vegas Golden Knights are heavy -280 moneyline favorites tonight, and it should put Thompson in a spot to pick up the win. Vegas has been one of the better defensive teams in the league this season, allowing only 2.38 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations (sixth-best in the league).

Thompson has been a rock for the Golden Knights this season with a .925 save percentage while allowing 2.09 goals per game. This should put him in a good spot since the San Jose Sharks are an average offensive team, scoring 2.64 goals in the same situation, which is 17th in the league. All of this should put Thompson in a spot to come away with a clean win.

High-Salaried Skaters

Tage Thompson ($10,100): The Buffalo Sabres have a 3.24 implied goal total tonight and are at home to take on the Vancouver Canucks which should present plenty of fantasy potential. Thompson has been an absolute star for the Sabres this season with 19 NHL points and 63 shots on goal through 15 games. His time on the first forward line and the first power-play unit has allowed Thompson to elevate his game and become a viable cash option every night.

The Canucks have been a bit of a mess on defense this season, sitting in the bottom half of the league in both Corsi Against (Total Shot Attempts Allowed) and goals allowed, both per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. This has led to Vancouver hitting the game total over in 11 of their 16 games -- a great sign for potential fantasy production.

Jack Hughes ($8,000): When it comes to hot offenses, the New Jersey Devils are near the top of the league in every category. They lead the league (70.29) in Corsi For (Total Shot Attempts Allowed) and goals scored (3.41), both per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. They are constantly pushing the pace on offense, and it allows players to access their fantasy ceiling every night.

Hughes is one of the players putting up fantasy points every night with 12 NHL points and 40 shots on goal over his last 10 games. The 6.5 over/under against the Montreal Canadiens suggests they are in another matchup where the scoring and fantasy points should be flowing.

Value Skaters

Owen Tippett ($5,500): I don't often talk about the Philadelphia Flyers since they aren't an amazing offense; they sit in the bottom 10 of the league in both Corsi For and goals scored per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations. They don't offer a ton of upside on a nightly basis, but tonight is different.

They are up against the Columbus Blue Jackets, who are dealing with a ton of injuries and missing six players right now. To this point in the season, the Blue Jackets are allowing 4.09 goals per 60 minutes in five-on-five situations, which is the worst in the league. They've also posted a 65.83 Corsi Against, which is the second-worst in the league. Their defense has been terrible -- and that was before the injuries.

Tippett is on the first forward line and the first power-play unit, coming in with 3 NHL points and 17 shots on goal over his last five games.

Sam Reinhart ($4,700): The Florida Panthers have a 3.71 implied goal total tonight and are always a threat to exceed that quickly. The Panthers' offense continues to be one of the stronger units in the league, and any time you can get exposure to their top six forwards, you should do so.

They have changed up their lines and Reinhart is now on the second forward line and the first power-play unit while still being under $5,000. He comes in with 3 NHL points and a strong 19 shots on goal over his last five games. That's a level of production he should be able to sustain in this new role.
